Scenery That Must Be Seen in Person

All throughout Fukui, there are places that need to be seen in person—no photo could simulate the experience. Step into a forest filled with towering trees, and feel the cool air around a spring-fed waterfall that spreads across a rocky riverbed. Visit a temple with one of Japan’s largest Buddha statues, inside a huge room with walls covered in many more statues. Then, ride an elevator to the top of the temple’s pagoda, for a panoramic view of the area. Afterward, share a delicious meal made with freshly caught local seafood.
