Wakasa Ohi Super Ogase

A Dramatic Fire Festival along the Coast

The Wakasa Ohi Super Ogase is a large fire festival held at the beginning of August, at the Uminpia Ohi Marine Amusement Complex. Some 60 young adults from the community join together along the shore to spin huge burning torches 20 meters tall, that each weigh about a ton.
