Wakasa Fisherman’s Wharf is located along Wakasa Bay in Obama, and offers fresh seafood, local goods, and pleasure boat rides out along the beautiful Sotomo coastline.
The restaurant Kaikoen is open during lunch hours, and visitors can choose from options like sashimi-topped rice bowls, seafood tempura, and grilled mackerel. Toretore Sushi offers a wide variety of takeout sushi and sashimi, from morning to evening, to eat at the Fisherman’s Wharf or on the go. From January through March (specific dates vary each year), the Oyster Hut serves freshly caught local Wakasa oysters, both steamed and grilled.
The gift shop has a large selection of Fukui specialties to choose from, including foods and drinks such as heshiko and local sake, as well as craft items like lacquered chopsticks made in Wakasa.
Wakasa Fisherman’s Wharf offers boat rides to see the dramatic rock formations of the Sotomo coastline. Boats run in the morning and early afternoon throughout most of the year.
